Peer Helpers

PEER HELPING AT STA
The Peer Helping program at St. Thomas Aquinas is very competitive for students to be accepted into and has become a strong fabric of the school.  Their is a screening process and application phase that potential Peer Helpers go through to be sure of suitability.

PEER HELPERS WITH EXCEPTIONAL STUDENTS
Traditionally, the Special Needs and Exceptional students get a peer helper in their classes.   Depending on availability of students, the Special Needs Room gets a peer helper for a specific period to help and support life skill courses.

BENEFITS OF PEER HELPERS
The benefits to Peer Helping include peer interaction, course support and community building within the school.  Much like our Lunch Buddies program, Peer Helping helps to facilitate our mission to be as inclusive a school as we can possibly be.   We feel that the more we can to to bridge any gap there may be with all our students is beneficial.
